Atrovent:

Atrovent is used to defend bronchospasm, emphysema, COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

Atrovent is consumed to prevent brochospasm; it will not to do any help when the attack happens. The best prescription would be to use it regularly to defend the attack.

Use the medication exactly, as it was prescribed for you. Do not use it in larger doses or for longer recommended.

Atrovent is not suitable for everyone and some people should never use it. Other people should only use it with special care. It is important that the person prescribing this medicine knows your full medical history. Therefore please ask your doctor about the exact dosages.

Side effects might be:

1. Headache
2. Nausea and vomiting
3. Dry mouth
4. Cough
5. Throat Irritation
6. Blurred Vision etc.

Please consult with your doctor, if you:

1. Are allergic
2. Have bladder problems
3. Have prostrate problems
4. Are pregnant
5. have, have had or have risk factors for glaucoma

In all these cases you may need a dose adjustment or some special test to use Atrovent safely.

ATROVENT AEROCAPS are indicated for the regular treatment of reversible bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic asthma.

Dosages (Instructions):

Adults (including the elderly):
1 capsule three or four times daily. This dose may be doubled safely in patients who are less responsive.

A total daily dose of 8 capsules should not be exceeded.

Children (under 12 years):
There is limited experience of the use of ATROVENT AEROCAPS in children, therefore the product is not recommended for use in children.

If therapy does not produce significant results or if the patient's condition gets worse, medical advice must be attempted. In the case of acute or rapidly worsening dyspnoea (difficulty in breathing) a doctor should be consulted immediately.

The capsules are only intended for use in the AEROHALER and should not be swallowed. The AEROHALER pierces the AEROCAP so that you can breathe the powder it contains into your lungs. The instructions for use of the AEROHALER should be read carefully to ensure correct usages.

When using the AEROHALER you will be breathing the medicine (powder) in from one capsule at a time. This means that you will be taking/breathing in an exact dose each time. You can use your AEROHALER for up to one year while being into your medication.
